Kakha Kaladze, the mayor of Tbilisi and secretary general of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday dismissed the radical groups’ planned Independence Day rally, arguing that those acting against national interests lose all public standing.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Kaladze claimed that such actions are being used for political purposes, stating that those involved “have no real resources or public support”.
“These are people who have no resources whatsoever. The Georgian people have already delivered their verdict on them and assigned them the place where they are today. They are in such a severe condition that they have no political pulse left”, he said.
“No matter what kind of alliances they create or whether they act separately - when you are a traitor, when you are a person without a homeland, when you serve the interests of another country, it is over. What politics are we talking about? What political support and public backing are we talking about? They have no resources and have been politically reduced to zero”, the official continued.
Kaladze concluded by emphasising that the Georgian people see everything clearly and analyse it well.
“They know who is who, who is controlled by whom, whose interests are at stake, who is an enemy of the country and who truly loves it”, he said.
