Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Tuesday said the German administration was putting itself in a “comical situation” by refusing to update formal information regarding the Georgian presidency on official government websites.
Speaking to journalists, the prime minister suggested that the situation speaks for itself and hardly requires formal criticism due to its perceived absurdity.
“The German administration is putting itself in a comical position when it refuses to change even formal information regarding the [Georgian] president on its own website. This doesn't even need criticism; the situation we are seeing is simply comical”, Kobakhidze said.
The ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia has sent another diplomatic note to the federal foreign office of Germany.
In addition to the verbal note sent on April 9, the Georgian foreign ministry has once again called for the information published on the official website of Germany’s foreign office regarding representatives of the Georgian government to be updated, noting that it has not been revised since 2024 despite the results of the parliamentary and presidential elections.
On the official website of the federal foreign office of Germany, Salome Zourabichvili is still listed as the president of Georgia, while Ilia Darchiashvili is named as the foreign minister.
