Bilateral relations and prospects for deepening cooperation across various sectors between Georgia and Kazakhstan were discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between Georgian president Mikheil Kavelashvili and his Kazakh counterpart Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
During the meeting, the Georgian president emphasised that the Middle Corridor has significant expansion potential and noted that intensified joint efforts are necessary to further develop this route.
The meeting also highlighted that the traditional friendship linking the two countries across multiple fields for many years requires the signing of a strategic partnership document.
Kavelashvili thanked Tokayev for Kazakhstan’s unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The Georgian president also congratulated Tokayev on the successful conduct of the referendum related to the adoption of the new constitution, noting that it will further strengthen statehood, improve institutional effectiveness, and, under his leadership, contribute to sustainable social and economic development.
