In a message marking the 14th anniversary of the founding of the ruling Georgian Dream party, the prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze highlighted a significant surge in public trust toward the state, attributing this progress to the party's accountability and institutional reforms.
A central theme of Kobakhidze’s message was the fundamental role played by Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and honorary chair of the party, crediting Ivanishvili’s vision and personal responsibility for shaping the modern Georgian state.
“Public trust in the state has increased, because today Georgia is a country where the government is accountable to the people and institutions serve society. Of course, in this historical process, the fundamental role of Bidzina Ivanishvili, now the honorary chair of Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia, in shaping the modern Georgian state should be especially highlighted”, he said.
The prime minister further stressed that Ivanishvili played a decisive role in this process, describing his leadership as a turning point in Georgia’s political development.
“It was precisely his vision and personal responsibility toward the country and its people that defined the path which brought Georgia to a turning point. It was under his leadership that it became possible to unite society around a common national goal, to implement democratic changes through peaceful means, and to dismantle systemic flaws that had long hindered the country’s development”, Kobakhidze stressed.
He also noted that over the past 14 years, the ruling Georgian Dream party has moved the country from confrontation toward stability.
“This is the path that Georgian Dream has taken step by step over the past 14 years - a path from challenges to progress, from confrontation to stability, and from distrust to trust. This is the path that has proven that consistent policy, the protection of sovereignty, and a peace-oriented vision can become the foundation of a country’s success”, Kobakhidze concluded.
