Georgian foreign minister Maka Botchorishvili on Wednesday said that the country has successfully managed to preserve peace and security while creating conditions for stable economic development and public well-being amid a highly complex geopolitical situation.
During an interpellation session in Parliament, Botchorishvili emphasised that the Georgian government immediately implemented relevant measures to ensure compliance with international sanctions regimes, aiming to prevent the use of Georgian territory for sanctions evasion. She noted that this policy continues to be effectively enforced.
The minister further added that no cases of sanctions circumvention via Georgian territory have been recorded. However, she said Georgia continues to face regular attacks and accusations both from internal “satellite actors” and external forces.
“This fact demonstrates that our country remains a target for certain forces that spare no effort to undermine our national interests, as well as peace and security within Georgia”, she said.
“In this context, the government’s efforts to defend Georgia’s interests are not easy. However, we can say with pride that we are successfully maintaining peace and security in our country and creating appropriate conditions for stable economic development and prosperity, even in this complex geopolitical environment”, Botchorishvili concluded.
