Archil Gorduladze, the chair of the Georgian Parliament’s legal affairs committee, on Tuesday said the Georgian government remains ready to maintain communication with its strategic partner, the United States, in any format.
Gorduladze’s comments came after Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday highlighted a productive phone call with US secretary of state Marco Rubio.
“We are always ready to communicate with our strategic partner, the United States, in any format. The strategic partnership outlined on paper, which has been suspended by the decision of the previous administration, must become tangible. We should move past what was damaged by the previous administration and individuals influenced by the so-called deep state, and transition to a qualitatively new stage in relations - one that takes into account the interests of both Georgia and the United States”, the official said.
