Georgian Parliament official highlights Gov’t’s goal to ensure high-level strategic partnership between Georgia and US

Nikoloz Samkharadze, the chair of the foreign relations committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Tuesday assessed the phone conversation held between Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze and US secretary of state Marco Rubio.

In his remarks, Samkharadze noted that the communication was a sign of positive momentum in relations between Tbilisi and Washington.

“There is already positive momentum in Georgia-US relations. This is clearly reflected in both the exchange of visits and yesterday’s phone call. We hope that the restoration of relations will evolve into further improvement. All of this should be a working process that requires time. Our goal and desire is to achieve a high-level strategic partnership between the countries”, Samkharadze concluded.
