Kakha Kaladze, the mayor of Tbilisi and secretary general of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday said the policy pursued by the Georgian Dream party, under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili, serves exclusively the interests of Georgia and its citizens.
Kaladze made the remarks in response to a journalist’s question about whether party members had been instructed to congratulate Ivanishvili on his birthday using identical messages.
“No matter how hard you try, this individual [Ivanishvili] has played a special role in Georgia’s recent history. That is a given and a reality. In 2011, when he made the decision to enter politics, that marked the end for all of you - that was the end of your turmoil in this country. Accordingly, the interests of our country will always be protected. The policy that the Georgian Dream party pursues, of course, under the leadership of Bidzina Ivanishvili, serves only and exclusively the interests of our country and its people. This is the most important thing”, Kaladze said.
