Georgian prime minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said Georgia can take exceptional pride in its law enforcement agencies, both in terms of professionalism and integrity. His comments came following the publication of the Rule of Law Index by the European Commission, which ranked Georgia among Europe’s top 20 countries for non-corrupt governance in law enforcement, placing it 22nd globally.
Kobakhidze emphasised that wherever assessments based on objective criteria are published, Georgia consistently emerges as a leader.
“Our country can be exceptionally proud of our law enforcement institutions, both for their professionalism and their integrity, and the study released by the European Commission is further proof of this. Georgia even ranks ahead of many EU member states, securing 16th place in this indicator, surpassing all candidate countries”, he said.
“Wherever objective, criteria-based evaluations are published, Georgia is always at the forefront. This demonstrates that our country is continuously progressing, and the advancement of our law enforcement agencies is a very visible reflection of this progress”, Kobakhidze concluded.
