Georgia is doing everything possible to ensure that sanctions evasion does not take place through its territory, Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said on Monday following a meeting with Slovakia’s Foreign Minister.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that the Georgian Government was closely cooperating with the European side on this matter.
“We cooperate very closely with the European side on this matter. Despite this, we see that, to some extent, certain steps are being taken without taking into account the information provided and without communication. This harms Georgia-EU relations and damages the potential that exists between the two sides, which could be used for the benefit of both parties”, the FM said.
She also expressed gratitude to Slovakia for its support and noted that Georgia will continue working to strengthen ties between the two countries in all directions.
“Of course, we will continue working to further strengthen relations between our two countries in every area. Our meeting today served exactly that purpose”, the Minister concluded.
