Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday said political activity in Georgia should not be funded from abroad, and that this principle was exactly what the package of draft laws initiated in the Parliament was meant to uphold.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that clarifying many aspects of the legislation was both important and necessary.
“Certain individuals are trying to find loopholes in the existing legislation and, through such means, finance political processes in Georgia. Of course, politics in Georgia should not be financed from abroad, and this is exactly the idea behind the package of draft laws that was initiated in the Parliament and is being adopted by the Parliament of Georgia”, Kobakhidze noted.
