Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Sunday emphasised the significance of focusing on the Middle Corridor during the Munich Security Conference, highlighting its growing importance for European security and connectivity.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili stressed that connectivity - particularly the development and functioning of the Middle Corridor - was a central topic in several discussion formats.
“Discussions on issues important to us - including connectivity and the functioning and development of the Middle Corridor - took place in several formats. In one of the dialogues, I had the opportunity to participate together with my Azerbaijani colleague. It is very important that, in the context of the Security Conference, the focus was specifically on the development of the Middle Corridor. We also heard interesting presentations, which will likely be important for European leaders to reassess and to take into account when shaping future policy”, she said.
Within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, Botchorishvili met with the OSCE Secretary General, Feridun Sinirlioğlu.
She also delivered remarks at a panel discussion held as part of the conference.
In addition, Maka Botchorishvili met with the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Ignazio Cassis.
