Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Thursday thanked Croatian President Zoran Milanović for honest and dignified remarks, calling on European bureaucracy and EU member states to abandon double standards toward Georgia.
In his remarks during a joint briefing, Kavelashvili emphasised that Zoran Milanović is the President of a dignified EU country and speaks the truth.
“I would like to address our society and say that yes, Croatia is indeed a dignified EU country, and its President speaks the truth. This is exactly the kind of sincere dialogue we expect from European bureaucrats and from representatives of countries that apply double standards and take a different approach toward our country. This is the attitude of a truly dignified leader - there is nothing excessive here; it is, quite simply, an acknowledgment of the truth and the kind of relationship that should exist between the presidents of equal and dignified countries”, he said.
“I would like to thank him once again for this and for visiting our beautiful country. His visit continues; he will meet with the Prime Minister and the Parliament Speaker, and I am confident he will be pleased with what he sees and with our hospitality. Once again, thank you, and I wish President Zoran every success”, Kavelashvili concluded.
Zoran Milanović, the President of Croatia, on Thursday said that Georgia, a country without diplomatic relations with Moscow, was unfairly accused of pro-Russian sympathies during a joint briefing following his meeting with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili.
“I won’t let European bureaucracy speak in my name”, he stressed.
