Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday described her meeting with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio as a valuable opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, expressing confidence that Georgia would soon be placed as a priority country on the agenda of the new US administration.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili noted that the discussions provided a valuable opportunity to review Georgia-US relations with senior US officials.
“It was a good opportunity to discuss Georgia-US relations with senior US officials”, she said.
The Foreign Minister emphasised that both sides agree on the need to refresh and clarify the partnership, introducing new initiatives to strengthen strategic cooperation.
“It is clear that we share the view that the relations with Georgia need to be reviewed and that some novelty should be introduced. We expect that Georgia will soon be a priority country on the agenda of the new US administration, and that our relations will gain a certain clarity regarding how Georgia and the United States should manage their relationship”, she concluded.
