Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Tuesday underscored the strategic role of the country’s ports, transport corridors, and trade infrastructure in connecting the region and beyond.
In her address at the Budapest Global Dialogue, Botchorishvili highlighted that Georgia’s transport and trade infrastructure not only links the region but also extends to broader markets, positioning the country as a hub for commerce and opportunities.
“Despite regional instability and global shocks - including the pandemic, energy crises, conflicts and disruptions to global supply chains - Georgia has demonstrated remarkable resilience and sustainable economic growth”, she said.
“Our GDP has expanded steadily, foreign direct investment has increased, and key sectors such as tourism, logistics, agriculture, and technology have shown strong recovery and innovation”, she continued.
The Minister credited strong fiscal discipline, comprehensive structural reforms, and a transparent regulatory framework for making Georgia an attractive and dependable destination for international investors and businesses.
“Strong fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and a transparent regulatory environment have strengthened our foundations, making Georgia a reliable partner and an increasingly attractive destination for international business and investment”, she noted.
Botchorishvili emphasised that Georgia’s ports, transport corridors, and trade infrastructure serve as critical connectors.
“Our ports, transport corridors, and trade infrastructure connect the region and beyond, positioning Georgia as a hub for commerce and opportunity. This success is the result of bold policy choices, open markets, and an unwavering commitment to stability”, the FM said.
“It shows that a small nation, even in a challenging region, can achieve great things through vision, courage, and determination”, Botchorishvili concluded.
