Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Monday spoke about the planned visit to Hungary, noting that Georgia’s invitation to the international event provides an important opportunity to present the country’s challenges and perspectives, particularly at a time when issues of security and peace are becoming increasingly prominent at both global and regional levels.
“This is, of course, a very good opportunity when Georgia is invited to participate in this format and we have the chance to speak about Georgia’s challenges and visions, about how important the fight for peace and the protection of peace are in today’s world, especially in our region. It is very important for us to take part in this event together with our partners, and I will have the opportunity to discuss issues of importance to us”, she said.
The Foreign Minister further noted that Hungary was one of Georgia’s strongest supporters, particularly in the process of European integration and in the context of relations with the European Union.
“Hungary is a very strong and vocal supporter of Georgia, especially when it comes to Georgia’s European integration and its relations with the European Union. In this context, it is of great importance for us to discuss all the challenges and key issues facing Georgia-EU relations, as well as topics related to our country’s positioning within international organisations. In this regard, Hungary’s support is very important, and our cooperation continues across various directions. We have very close relations in all areas”, Botchorishvili concluded.
