Georgian PM: Georgian Dream first Gov’t to deliver continuous peaceful progress

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Sunday said the Georgian Dream Government was the first administration in Georgia’s modern history, since the restoration of independence, under which the country has experienced continuous peaceful development.

In his interview with POSTV channel, Kobakhidze emphasised that his Government was defending the country’s sovereignty and vital national interests.

“The Georgian Dream Government is the first administration in our recent history, since independence, under which we have continuous peaceful development. This is our main achievement, and we will do everything in the future to protect it”, he said.

The Prime Minister noted that the processes around and within the country were still full of challenges.

“We protect our state’s sovereignty and our nation’s vital interests. When you are principled, it becomes relatively easier to overcome problems. Going through these processes is very painful in every respect, including personally, as very powerful forces are involved”, Kobakhidze continued.

“We have seen what happens when a specific country cannot withstand pressure - I am referring to Ukraine. There, everything began with a revolution, and the forces that organised it did not take responsibility for the subsequent developments. We have managed to defend our interests, and as a result, we maintain peace and stability in our country. The Georgian Dream government is the first administration in our recent history, since independence, under which we have uninterrupted peaceful development. This is our main achievement, and we will continue to do everything to safeguard it”, he concluded.
