Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili on Saturday summarised the meetings held in Italy alongside Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili during the Winter Olympic Games, emphasising the importance of communicating Georgia’s positions to international partners.
In her remarks, Botchorishvili highlighted informal but substantive conversations with senior US officials and representatives from Europe and other regions, framing these encounters as ideal for exchanging views, testing ideas, and reinforcing Georgia’s messaging on key domestic and foreign policy issues.
“We had the opportunity to speak with numerous leaders who attended the opening ceremony. Among them, we had the chance to meet with the Vice President of the United States, the Secretary of State, as well as other leaders from various regions, including representatives of European countries”, she said.
“For us, it is, of course, important that Georgia’s positions and information about our country are correctly conveyed to our partners. And naturally, whenever participation in such events occurs, it provides the best opportunity for exchanging and testing ideas”, Botchorishvili concluded.
