Mariam Lashkhi, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee, on Friday said an interim report of the Judiciary Committee of the United States House of Representatives was another confirmation of how the European bureaucrats were blatantly interfering in domestic politics as well as imposing censorship.
“This is yet another statement of fact, where we see European bureaucrats crudely interfering in domestic politics. Simultaneously, they are dictating what should be censored and which ideology should prevail, all while condemning free speech under the guise of freedom. This is precisely what contradicts the core essence of this union, and through these actions, it is these very bureaucrats who are primarily damaging the European Union”, Lashkhi said.
The US House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary has published an interim report titled “The Threat of Foreign Censorship, Part II: Europe’s Decade-Long Campaign for Global Internet Censorship and How It Harms Freedom of Expression in the United States”.
One of the chapters of the report claims that “the European Commission regularly interferes in national elections of EU member states”.
