Levan Machavariani, the First Deputy Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Wednesday stressed that any form of extremism or radicalism that threatens the country’s constitutional order must be subject to legal accountability.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Machavariani highlighted the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment for governance and focusing on national welfare rather than being continuously occupied with combating extremism and attempts to overthrow the state.
“It is very important for the Government to manage the state in a peaceful environment, focusing more on the country’s welfare rather than constantly fighting extremism and attempts to overthrow the state. Any type of extremism and radicalism that calls for the violation of the constitutional order in the country must be punishable”, he said.
