Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday emphasised that his Government and businesses must collaborate to find ways to lower prices and expressed confidence that this goal was achievable.
Speaking to Georgian journalists in Dubai, Kobakhidze acknowledged the complexity of reducing prices in a free-market system, where businesses independently set costs.
“Of course, we will do everything to reduce prices. This is generally a complex issue, given that it involves a free market where businesses set their own prices. But I want to once again call on everyone to act together with high social responsibility”, he said.
The Prime Minister further noted that his Government has initiated consultations with businesses to explore practical measures for lowering prices, aiming to complete the process by the end of April.
“The Government and businesses need to sit together to find ways to lower prices, and I believe this is achievable. We have announced a process that will last at most until the end of April, but even before that, it should be possible to reduce prices. We will continue consultations with businesses to achieve this goal”, he concluded.
