Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, on Wednesday said Georgia had the same rights as Germany to protect itself against extremism and unlawful political activity.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Gorduladze emphasised that individuals attempting to undermine the legitimacy of constitutional or state authorities must face appropriate accountability.
“If Germany has the right to defend itself from extremism, Georgia has the same right. Individuals who simultaneously create or plan to create governmental bodies that do not recognise the legitimacy of constitutional and state authorities, who deliberately call on others to break the law, and who actively oppose the state - this should trigger appropriate accountability”, he said.
