Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili on Friday intensified his criticism of foreign-funded non-governmental organisations, comparing their Estonian-registered offices to the flimsy shelters found in the fairy tale The Three Little Pigs.
During a press briefing today, Papuashvili addressed questions regarding a plot to overthrow the Government.
In his remarks, the Speaker noted that by expressing solidarity, Brussels was encouraging the radical opposition and the NGOs.
“Today we see attempts to launch a campaign aimed at downplaying the attempt to overthrow the Government. This is done through fake reports by organisations they fund - those registered in Tallinn in what looks like the Three Little Pigs' hut. We saw all of this happening right before our eyes”, Papuashvili said.
Papuashvili on Thursday claimed the European Union was using indirect schemes to exert political influence in Georgia by channeling funds into politics without the consent of the Georgian people.
In his interview with Imedi TV, he presented what he described as photo evidence and registration documents showing that several Georgian non-governmental and media organisations were registered at the same address in Estonia, with the address corresponding to a dilapidated, partially ruined building located next to a railway line, which he said raises questions about the credibility of the organisations allegedly registered there.
