Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Wednesday commented on the document approved by the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs, stating that its authors act in full synergy against Georgia.
“What expectations should one have from the authors of the resolutions cited as examples in this document? The authors of this document and those resolutions act in complete coordination against our country”, he said.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Kirtskhalia noted that such unjust approaches caused harm to European values themselves.
“This is a force that seeks to turn our country into a vassal state, a proxy state - into a country where, based on their narrow political or mercantile interests, our country and the political team of any country would carry out their instructions”, the official said.
“With all due respect, they know very well where our society stands, where the ruling team stands, and where the Government - elected for the tenth time - stands. This should be a very clear example for them”, he continued.
Kirtskhalia emphasised that through numerous resolutions and unfair approaches, European values and principles had been undermined.
“With such unjust treatment - by now we have lost count of how many resolutions there have been - they themselves have damaged the European values and principles on which Europe was built”, he concluded.
