Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday said if anyone was afraid of snap elections in Georgia, it was the opposition, adding that the demand for early elections had effectively been removed from the political agenda.
In his interview with Imedi TV, Kobakhidze stressed that political processes in Georgia should fundamentally follow constitutional timelines.
“We intend to adhere to constitutional terms. We have our principles, our schedules, and we believe that political processes in Georgia should develop in line with constitutional deadlines. Therefore, our position is that the parliamentary elections must be held on October 28, 2028”, the PM said.
