A recent statement by the US President Donald Trump, saying that Europe is not moving in the right direction, has become a subject of political discussion in Georgia.
Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, says that Donald Trump’s assessment confirms the statements previously made by the Georgian Government regarding its relations with the European Union.
In his remarks, Gorduladze noted that European bureaucracy is increasingly distancing itself from democratic principles, the rule of law, justice, and Christian values, while promoting what he described as a “pseudo-culture” that has no connection with any sovereign country.
“Now let them dare to argue with Trump and tell him something different. It will be interesting to see whether those unelected bureaucrats, who attack Georgia and the Georgian people, will make the same statements toward President Trump and the United States”, the Parliament official said.
