Georgian Ambassador: Hungary firmly supports Georgia’s sovereignty

Nika Laliashvili, the Georgian Ambassador to Hungary, on Thursday said Hungary was a “firm and active” supporter of Georgia’s sovereignty.

In his remarks with Imedi TV, Laliashvili noted that the visit of the Georgian parliamentary delegation to Budapest “once again confirms that cooperation between the two countries is not limited to the political level, but is also very active across sectoral directions”.

“There are several areas where intensive work is planned. One of them is demography - Hungary has very strong experience in this field, and sharing this experience would be beneficial for Georgia as well. Working meetings will also focus on areas such as youth policy, culture, and the economy”, the Ambassador said.

The visit of the Georgian parliamentary delegation to Budapest is ongoing. In the coming hours, delegation members are scheduled to meet with the Deputy Minister of Culture and Innovation of Hungary.

Later today, the delegation will also hold meetings with the leadership of the youth wing of Hungary’s ruling party.
