Davit Berdzenishvili, a Georgian opposition leader and founder of Georgia’s Republican Party, on Wednesday harshly criticised US President Donald Trump’s address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling him “the most shameful and empty-headed leader America has ever had”.
In a social media message, Berdzenishvili expressed hope that pro-Trump forces would become a minority in both chambers of Congress after November’s elections.
He added that, in the end, “it will be for a judge and a psychiatrist to decide whether he is a prisoner or a patient”.
“The most shameful and empty-headed leader of America is now babbling in Davos about history, international politics, economics, and anything else you can imagine. Compared to this, a rude and ignorant chekist [Vladimir Putin] from Moscow looks like Thucydides and Kant”, he said.
Berdzenishvili further suggested that Trump's folly might paradoxically restore leadership to Europe, including nations like Britain and Canada.
