Davit Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Monday said it seemed that the deep state did not like sovereignty, did not need nations and states that independently defend themselves and their dignity.
Matikashvili responded to the statements of Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and President Maia Sandu who supported the reunification with Romania
In his interview with Imedi TV, Matikashvili noted that the current Government of Moldova decided to solve Moldova's economic stagnation, low living standards, corruption, and other problems with one stroke of the pen by uniting with another country.
“We find it unbelievable that the political leaders of an independent and sovereign state said that we do not want sovereignty and that we would gladly vote and support the loss of our country's independence. Moldova was brought to such a theater of absurdity by pseudoliberalism, and the dictates of the deep state”, Matikashvili said.
“It seems that in the deep state they do not like sovereignty, they do not need nations and states that independently defend themselves and their dignity, and they have a great desire to create a homogeneous group of people, which they strive for. It seems that Maia Sandu turned out to be a great supporter of this direction”, he concluded.
