Davit Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Monday said the EU High Representative Kaja Kallas’ actions were not corresponding to the healthy partnership framework between the European Union and Georgia, which the country “has been striving to build for years”.
“Given the serious challenges facing the EU and the turbulent environment in general, the Union should be pursuing a more thoughtful, prudent, and balanced foreign policy. Instead what is being observed is an absolutely low-quality and groundless policy that serves not EU interests, but those of informal forces”, Matikashvili noted.
“Kaja Kallas’ actions were inconsistent with the healthy environment of partnership between the EU and Georgia, which our country has been striving to build for years”, he concluded.
Criticism of Kaja Kallas continues in Brussels.
This time, the EU’s High Representative has been challenged by Javi López, the Vice-President of the European Parliament.
López stated that Kallas was unfit for the position.
