Gia Volski, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and the First Vice Speaker of the Parliament, on Friday said the European Union had been left out of global processes due to Brussels’ policies.
Volski made his remarks while commenting on a statement by the German Chancellor, who referred to Russia as a European country, as well as reports by Politico that the EU was planning to appoint a special representative for negotiations with Russia.
“The European Union has, in fact, been left out of global processes due to Brussels’ policies - processes that are focused on negotiations, agreements, easing strained relations, and ultimately on talks and peace, with the US administration leading these efforts”, he said.
The official noted that these developments once again confirmed the correctness of Georgia’s pragmatic state policy.
He further emphasised that while Georgian authorities were previously accused of being “pro-Russian”, many of those critics were now themselves turning toward pragmatic approaches.
“Europe has fully subordinated itself to the party of war. Pragmatism must overcome the reality that is being artificially created. Justice towards Georgia will be established once and for all if this reality is taken into account”, Volski concluded.
