Davit Matikashvili, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party and Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Committee on Procedural Issues and Rules, on Monday said that the EU’s policy, guided by the so-called “deep state”, was directly harmful - not only to the European Union and its citizens but also to the countries with which the EU maintains partnerships.
Matikashvili’s comments came after Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed his strong opinion that Kaja Kallas should resign from her position as the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs.
The Parliament official noted that Kallas was pursuing a particularly harmful path, and Fico’s assessment was absolutely correct.
“Kallas, who has been embroiled in scandals, has had to apologise several times, as we remember, for spreading false information. On this backdrop, she still finds time for Georgia, while her own problems and those of the European Union - given the deep crisis that truly exists in Europe - are clear and tangible”, Matikashvili said.
