Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Thursday assessed his official visit to China as another step forward on the path to further deepening Georgia-China relations.
Speaking to journalists in China, Kobakhidze emphasised the importance of meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Qiang, discussing bilateral relations and specific issues of cooperation.
“First of all, of course, the most important was the meeting with the [Chinese] Prime Minister. We talked about bilateral relations and discussed, among other things, very specific issues of cooperation, an important topic, in relation to which we want to further strengthen our partnership, cooperation. We received a general promise from our Chinese partners that there will be full support, full assistance in this direction. There is a great interest in deepening our bilateral partnership. This is of great importance for our country, for the realisation of our country's national strategic interests, which we have been talking about very openly with our Chinese partners”, the PM said.
“In the future, we will do everything to further strengthen the partnership and friendship between Georgia and China. We had a discussion about this, of course, with the [Chinese] Prime Minister, as well as with the Mayor of Shanghai. This visit was another step forward on the path to further deepening Georgian-Chinese relations”, he concluded.
