Archil Gorduladze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee, on Wednesday criticised the recent European Commission report, calling it “an absolute lie and disinformation”.
In his remarks, Gorduladze noted that the statements and assessments contained in the report were part of an ongoing effort to destabilise the country and replace the current Government with one that would serve the interests of European bureaucrats and their deep state patrons.
“For example, when the OSCE/ODIHR did not make statements like those in the EU report and the elections were evaluated as competitive, what does it mean otherwise? If there is no freedom of choice, what are elections in general? Of course, these statements are solely intended to create disorder in our country and bring a Government that will dance to the tune of European bureaucracy and their patrons - the deep state. Nothing is different from what we’ve seen over the years. It is absolute falsehood, absolute disinformation, including the disregard for the choice of the Georgian people”, the official said.
“When impartial evaluation is applied, every score and assessment related to Georgia is objective and notes progress. But when the European bureaucracy’s political bias enters the scene, we see absolute lies, and no one cares about any report. They write whatever they want, interpret whatever they want”, Gorduladze concluded.
