Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday said that Georgia’s ambitious infrastructure projects were transforming the country into a key trade and transport route between China and Europe, strengthening regional connectivity, and supporting growing economic cooperation.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the China International Import Expo, Kobakhidze noted that Georgia aimed to further strengthen its business-friendly environment, attract more investment, and deepen cooperation across a wide range of sectors.
“Along with its strong economic fundamentals, Georgia’s ambitious infrastructure projects - including the Anaklia Deep Sea Port, the East-West Highway, the Black Sea Submarine Cable, the Tbilisi International Airport project, and the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway - were turning the country into a key trade and transport route between China and Europe, strengthening regional connectivity and supporting growing economic cooperation”, the PM said.
“Georgia remained firmly committed to its partnership with China. We aimed to further enhance our business-friendly environment, attract more investment, and deepen cooperation across a wide range of sectors”, Kobakhidze concluded.
