Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Monday commented on the resolution adopted by the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) regarding Georgia, noting that such resolutions and statements filled with lies will not produce any result.
In his remarks, Kaladze highlighted that the public “clearly sees and analyses” the ongoing developments both inside and outside the country.
“The campaign of lies continues. This is not the first time such a resolution has been adopted, and the public is well aware of how these resolutions are made. The most important thing is that the Georgian people have said ‘no’ to the entrenched European bureaucracy that is fighting against Georgia’s statehood, peace, and economic development”, he said.
“The public clearly sees and analyzes what is happening not only within the country but also in the world and in the region. Therefore, such resolutions and statements filled with lies will have no effect”, the official concluded.
The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) adopted a resolution at its party congress in Brussels condemning what it described as “rigged elections” in Georgia and calling on the European Union to impose targeted sanctions.
