Irakli Kirtskhalia, the Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party faction in the legislative body, on Wednesday commented on the visit of the OSCE Chairperson to the country by saying that European bureaucrats would have to accept the choice made by the Georgian people.
In his remarks, Kirtskhalia highlighted that, despite numerous attempts to influence the country, Georgians would never compromise their dignity, identity, or freedom.
“The attempt to carry out this dirty scenario in our country is obvious. Yesterday, once again, we witnessed direct evidence of support - in the literal sense of extremism - which our society has been observing closely for years”, the ruling party official said.
“Once again, the main question that arises for us, for our political team, and for the majority of our country: how long, friends - I am addressing the European bureaucrats - how long will you continue undermining the very European values and principles in whose name you speak to us? How long will you continue this destruction and insult to our society and our sovereign country, which you carry out so recklessly? The answer is very simple: society has already given you that answer, and believe me, each and every one of you will have to accept it”, he continued.
Kirtskhalia concluded by stressing that he was speaking from this tribune on behalf of the majority of the country.
“You will have to accept it because, remember, I am speaking from this tribune on behalf of the majority of our country: despite your dirty attempts, the children of our country will never renounce their dignity, never renounce their identity, and never renounce the sovereignty and freedom they have defended for centuries - freedoms that, unfortunately, today’s so-called politicians, installed by the European bureaucracy and the Deep State, have completely abandoned”, he noted.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Wednesday canceled a scheduled meeting with Finland’s visiting Foreign Minister due to her participation in an illegal rally and false statements made on Tuesday.
