Levan Machavariani, an MP from the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the ruling party had undertaken all necessary steps to realign with the current US administration, including proposing a specific roadmap, and was now in a waiting mode for the reboot to materialise.
In his remarks, Machavariani asserted that no one could fault the ruling party for inaction in restoring relations.
“No one can accuse us of failing to act. I can’t recall a single opposition party leader or representative who hasn’t publicly insulted Mr. Donald Trump with offensive language - and I want the public to keep that in mind”, the official said.
He further reiterated the party's complete alignment with the US administration on core issues and confirmed a proactive approach by offering a specific plan for renewed cooperation.
“The ruling Georgian Dream party has done everything to reboot relations. Our worldview in the political sphere, our messages, and our views on various issues are fully aligned, and we are in a waiting mode. We have proposed a specific roadmap to the US”, he concluded.
