The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned protesters in the capital city of Tbilisi to disperse from the area, using special equipment on-site to issue voice alerts.
The announcement, broadcast through loudspeakers, stated: “Please disperse! Otherwise, measures defined by law will be used against you”.
In an official statement, the Ministry noted that “the ongoing rally has exceeded the norms established by the Law on Assemblies and Manifestations. The organizers have made calls of a violent nature”.
Earlier, radicals broke into the courtyard of the Presidential Palace, dismantling the barriers surrounding the area. In response, riot police deployed water cannons to disperse the crowd.
