Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze expressed optimism about the ongoing electoral process, highlighting its peaceful nature and predicting a decisive victory for the ruling Georgian Dream party.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that the elections were unfolding smoothly, with no reported disruptions, creating favourable conditions for his party’s success.
“It is very good that we have a peaceful environment, and the electoral process is proceeding peacefully. Ultimately, it is precisely on the basis of these peaceful elections that the Georgian Dream party will win convincingly.
He expressed confidence that the tranquil electoral climate would lead to a clear triumph for the ruling Georgian Dream party once the polls close and results are tallied after 8 PM local time.
“This will be the result that everyone will see after 20:00 in Georgia”, he concluded.
Local self-government elections are taking place in Georgia, with citizens voting to elect municipal council members and mayors for a four-year term.
Georgians are casting their ballots to select representatives to 64 local councils (Sakrebulo) and 64 mayors across the country.
