Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday said that very strict instructions have already been given to law enforcement agencies regarding the use of proportional force ahead of Saturday's rally planned by the domestic radical groups.
In his remarks, Kobakhidze noted that his Government has done - and will continue to do - everything possible to prevent any incidents, misconduct, or the use of disproportionate force.
“We take full responsibility for this and have done and will do our utmost to ensure it. This is our stance and our responsibility on this matter. While excesses and problems can occur in any country, we will make every effort to identify any wrongdoing should it happen, and naturally, this issue will be addressed. But we have already taken maximum measures to prevent incidents”, the PM said.
Regarding violent protesters, the Prime Minister warned they must act with great caution.
“If the identification rate in the previous case was about 3 percent, now it will be much higher. Therefore, I advise everyone not to engage in actions that could result in long-term imprisonment”, he concluded.
