Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder and Honorary Chair of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Wednesday said Georgia had a chance to once again demonstrate that the country’s struggle lies in turning out to vote, making a free choice, and safeguarding peace and stability, in remarks over the upcoming local elections scheduled for Saturday.
In a public address marking the 13th anniversary of Georgian Dream’s victory in the 2012 parliamentary elections, Ivanishvili stressed that the public now had the opportunity to turn radicalism into the past and focus on development, prosperity, and the country’s unification.
“Today, we have the chance to finally consolidate, peacefully, the victory we achieved in 2012. Let us make radicalism and confrontation part of yesterday, and instead fight for greater development and prosperity, for the final eradication of poverty, for strengthening sovereignty, and for the peaceful unification of our country”, he concluded
