Kakha Kaladze, the incumbent Mayor of Tbilisi and the mayoral candidate of the ruling party Georgian Dream party, on Tuesday said the ruling party would do everything possible to preserve long-term peace in the country, which, in turn, fosters economic development.
Kaladze made the statement in response to a journalist’s question regarding recent economic growth rankings published by the Asian Development Bank.
“The most important thing is to continue a policy that brings peace and long-term stability to the country. Peace, in turn, leads to economic prosperity, progress, construction, and development. This process is irreversible. We will do everything to maintain long-term peace in the country”, Kaladze said.
“Let’s make comparisons, for example, with European countries and their economic growth. It is very positive that the country is developing economically and moving forward, despite some European bureaucrats insulting the country and engaging in threats and slander”, he concluded.
After the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has also revised Georgia’s economic outlook upward. In its latest update, ADB increased the country’s 2025 growth forecast from 6% to 7%.
