Georgian PM says no election congratulations for Moldova while it remains in Commonwealth of Independent States

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Monday commented on the recent parliamentary elections in Moldova, stating that Tbilisi would refrain from offering congratulations while Moldova remains a member of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

“As long as Moldova remains a member of the CIS, it will be difficult for us to extend congratulations. We will wait until Moldova leaves the CIS; after that, we will see and reconsider the issue of congratulations”, the PM said.
