Kakha Kaladze, the incumbent mayor of Tbilisi and the mayoral candidate of the ruling party Georgian Dream party, on Sunday highlighted the importance of peace for the development of the country ahead of the upcoming local elections scheduled for Saturday.
“We are all fighting to protect our country’s independence and sovereignty. In this fight, the role of each of us is important. We all agree that without peace, the development of the country is unimaginable. If we did not fight for peace, we could not speak about projects to be implemented in the city. Despite numerous provocations, slanders, insults, and threats - which still continue today - we maintain a firm position, prioritising and defending the interests of our country and our people. There is no other way. Of course, we will not accept that outsiders interfere and impose hostile directives - no friend would tell you to wage war in your own country”, Kaladze said.
The Mayor further thanked the Georgian Dream party voters for their support and solidarity.
“October 4 will be another important date for our country and our capital, to continue the projects we have initiated - whether it is the renovation of squares, parks, replacing emergency buildings, or many other areas. We will not leave anyone facing problems alone. We will help everyone to the best of our ability. Above all, the most important thing for the country is lasting peace, because peace brings development, and development brings well-being to every family”, Kaladze concluded.
