Kakha Kaladze, the Mayor of Tbilisi and Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday made a strong prediction of victory for the ruling Georgian Dream party in the upcoming local self-government elections scheduled for October 4, while harshly criticising the opposition.
In his remarks, Kaladze dismissed the opposition's resources, arguing they have lost even the support they once had.
“On October 4, the Georgian people will once again show these rootless, traitorous agents their place”, the ruling party official said.
“As for the statements made by the opposition about the so-called peaceful revolution, they have no resources, no backing, and have been nullified both as politicians and as individuals. No one is interested in their statements. The opposition has disappeared from the radar. They have lost even the supporters they had. They are trying to attract attention with such stupid statements and nothing more”, he continued.
On the elections themselves, he expressed confidence that “on October 4, in every municipality - both at the council and mayoral levels the Georgian Dream party will emerge victorious”.
