Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili attended a dinner hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, where he met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick.
In his social media message, Kavelashvili said the exchange with Secretary Lutnick was “friendly and constructive”, delivering an important message on behalf of the Georgian people.
“At the dinner hosted by President Donald Trump, I had the opportunity to meet with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Our communication was warm and friendly. I conveyed to him the message of the Georgian people - that the silence of the current US administration regarding Georgia raises questions in our society. This is particularly significant given the value-based alignment that exists between our Government and President Trump’s administration on fundamental issues. Secretary Lutnick assured me that he would share my views with members of the administration”, the President noted.
