Imedi TV on Tuesday reported that the European Court of Human Rights has declined to admit for consideration a complaint filed regarding the freezing of bank accounts belonging to the domestic NGO Social Justice Center (EMC).
In August, Tbilisi City Court ordered the freezing of bank accounts belonging to seven non-governmental organisations.
The measure is tied to an ongoing investigation into alleged acts of sabotage, attempted sabotage under aggravating circumstances, and assistance to a foreign organisation or foreign-controlled entity engaged in hostile activities.
As part of the case, investigators have summoned the heads of several NGOs for questioning at the Prosecutor’s Office.
