Georgian President departs for US to address UN General Assembly

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili on Sunday departed for New York to participate in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly and to hold a series of high-level meetings.

As part of his visit, Kavelashvili is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary General António Guterres to discuss key issues of international and regional importance.

The President will also attend an official reception hosted by US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump in honour of the heads of delegations participating in the UN General Assembly.
