Nino Tsilosani, an MP for the ruling Georgian Dream party and Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, on Thursday criticised members of the opposition United National Movement party for their ongoing meetings in Washington, accusing them of attempting to damage the country’s interests.
“Even now, they are holding meetings in the US only to cause at least some harm to this country and its Government”, Tsilosani said, responding to reports about the opposition party’s visit to the US capital.
She further stressed that the opposition had turned to lobbying abroad after realising they had no chance of coming to power through elections.
“In the current situation, when they are fully convinced that their chances of winning elections are zero, the only thing left for them is paid articles and reliance on disinformation. Even now in the US, they are holding meetings solely to inflict some small damage on this country and its government”, she concluded.
